Another week over, another week closer to hot summer weather and I just cannot WAIT!
My impatience is building, and my flower-budget to bring warm weather into my apartment is starting to get a little out of control...
Let's hope for a gorgeous weekend to relax!
Before we kick that off though, lets Wine Down this week.
Back at "Rock, Bought'em"
I was so so so excited to get back up to my family cottage, "Rock, Bought'em" this weekend with my Mom and Dad!
Also some "light" landscaping (see: lifting heavy granite rocks)
My Dad almost hooked a 2ft Lake Trout and he was SO excited but equally as devastated it got away... I don't think he's going to leave the dock much this summer.
How Canadian is that image right there?
Here's to many many gorgeous days and nights in cottage country!
I've been doing my best to get all caught up with friends in the last week and a half. Lots of drinks and dinners with the ladies, it's been wonderful.
Wednesday I met my friend Courtney downtown Toronto after work. We hadn't picked a restaurant ahead of time (very weird as we're both aggressively type A) so we walked down King Street until we found something that tickled our fancy.
Then I remembered that Wednesday is $5 martini night at Hey Lucy's!
Hey Lucy's is a spot I hadn't been to in years, and I don't know if Courtney had ever been. All I know is my personalized olive, mushroom, arugula and feta pizza was amazing, and there were gummy bears drowning at the bottom of my drink (so I had to save them... then eat them).
Delicious AND a great deal? Could you ask for anything better on a Wednesday night with a good friend? I think not!
Stella and Dot Goodies
Mother's Day this past weekend meant deciding on something fabulous for my Mom. I like to get her something to kick off the summer season in style for Mother's Day.
Usually, when I'm shopping around, I end up picking something from Stella and Dot.
This year, Mom got this really cool cork tote bag. Yes, you heard me, cork! Sustainable, beautiful and perfect for summer!
What I'm Drinking
Cottage nights mean a wide variety of beverages, but this weekend I went with a classic favourite of mine, Inniskillin Late Autumn Riesling.
I'm sure I've featured this one before, but it's one of my favourites AND a local wine, so how could I not love it?
Just the right mixture of honey and citrus, it's great for drinking on its own, as a spritzer, or cooking with (one should never cook with bad wine!)
Long live hot summer days with a cool glass of wine on hand.
I hope you're getting ready for a fabulous weekend! What are you looking forward to now that the warmer weather is on it's way, let me know in the comments.
