I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Kris is out of town (which I'm not thrilled about) so I've arranged for lots of time with some of my favourite ladies to eat, drink and be merry!
While the cat's away, the mice will play!
It's been a busy week, full of family, feasting, long car rides and baseball excitement, so I'm pretty excited to Wine Down this week!
Thanksgiving Part 1
The Saturday of Thanksgiving, Kris and I hopped in the car and headed up to Lake Joseph in Muskoka for a feast with my family (and some gorgeous fall colours)
I love Thanksgiving so much, and my family loves to get together and have a big, BIG dinner! The 20 of us gathered for laughter, drinking and food.
For the first time this year, the younger generation GREATLY outnumbered the older, which led to a lot of funny "Go to the kids end of the table" "but I AM" conversations.
Yes, we're still "kids" even though we're all in our mid-to-late twenties
Though my grandparents are the biggest kids of all.
Thanksgiving Part 2
After a wonderful evening at my Uncles, Kris and I headed up to my family cottage for the evening, our last stay of the season.
We awoke to some pretty stunning colours and views.
The beautiful morning light inspired us to take a few photos together, before we headed off to Kris' family event.
Kris' family Thanksgiving on Sunday was also a total blast! We arrived just after lunch and spent a great afternoon with everyone on the porch drinking wine and beer, before heading to the basement for a pool tournament.
Technically no one "won" but I never LOST, so I'd like to think that my team won... though I think at least 2 other teams did as well.
Afterwards it was a delicious dinner and time spent watching the game.
And speaking of the game...
After what might have been the CRAZIEST baseball game ever played (seriously. ever. read the highlights) Jays won the tie breaking game and advance to the American League Championship Series against the Royals!
The city was completely electric. We were seated at a bar watching it happen and the crowd was cheering and jeering at the screens all night.
This is such a thrilling playoff season, and I'm so excited for the next series!
What I'm Drinking.
With all of this baseball, it's been a lot of beer drinking... and I mean, LOT of beer drinking. I don't see this ending in the near future since the Jays are still playing.
Lately I've been enjoying some delicious Hoegaarden.
What have you been up to this week? Have you already celebrated Thanksgiving, or is it in November, or do you not have it at all? Are you cheering on a particular baseball club this post season? Let me know!
