Friday Wine-Down

Happy Friday!

It's labour day weekend, but I'm refusing to give up my whites just yet... It's so hot and summery out!

I'm looking forward to a nice long weekend of fun with friends and family, so lets Wine Down this week!

September!!!

September is here and its.... well its about 400000 degrees outside. WHY! I'm so ready for fall, my boots are looking at me so longingly, my new fall outfits are hanging limply in my closet, and there's a rather large scarf collection with my name on it!

I know I shouldn't be rushing away this heat (it will be -20C before long) but I can't help but be excited!

This month is especially exciting because I know I will be welcoming a beautiful little lady into my life! If you follow along with the blog, you know my friend Steph is pregnant, and due ANY DAY NOW! I can't wait to get my hands on her little girl, who I am going to spoil and bribe into being her favourite auntie. I've already bought her very first pair of kick-ass-kicks!

seriously how cute are those?

Online Schooling

I recently decided to pursue my PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. I found a great online course that applies for my required 35 hours of class in order to apply to sit the exam.

Getting back to school for the first time in 5 years is interesting. I'm out of habit for strange things, like taking good notes (rather than just writing down EVERYTHING). I'm trying to be strict and set myself specific study days and hours so that I can keep a good pace, and the online classes really accommodate that.

Wish me luck!

Fun at the CNE

The Canadian National Exhibition is back in town until Monday, so Kris and I went on our annual date to enjoy the fun!

The CNE was one of our very first dates, and I will never forget how much it rained and how much fun we had in spite of that. We decided it just made it that much more cliche a date for a young couple. We love going back year after year to enjoy it together.

After a delicious (and greasy) dinner at the food building, we were off through the midway to play games of chance. My handsome date won me some prizes, and then we hit the thrill rides! After a couple hours of laughing and screaming, we shared a snow cone and just walked through the crowd and lit booths watching the activity. And of course, we picked up some Tiny Tom Donuts for the train ride home.

How cute a date night is that? I one lucky lady!

Canvas and Cocktails

Another fun activity this week, on Monday my friend Amanda and I participated in a "Canvas and Cocktails" class! I'm hoping to write a full blog post on this, but here's a sneak peek of all the fun.

A great evening with one of my favourite ladies, and definitely something we both want to do again!

What I'm Drinking

I'm heading up north on Saturday Morning for the last summer cottage weekend. I'm pretty bummed about this, but at least the weather will be great for enjoying our little slice of heaven.

My mom has been itching to try my White Wine Peach Sangria since I posted about it, so that will be our bevvy of the weekend! I know it's not new, but it's delicious and peach season is dwindling, so enjoy it now!

How will you be spending your labour day weekend? Or how did you spend it if it was last weekend?

Cheers everyone!
