It's been a busy couple of weeks.
I wasn't planing on writing a blog post today, but then I had the following conversation with my bestest friend Rebecca:
So, as promised, I'm writing a blog post tonight and dedicating it to my bestie. Congratulations mademoiselle, you're FAMIUS!
I'm sorry internet (and Becky), here's an update on what's been keeping me quiet the past little while!
This past weekend was especially go go go! The Easter Long Weekend provided Kris and I with not one but TWO days to work on his house.
Friday was a demolition-derby. We ripped out all of the kitchen cabinets in a sledge hammer frenzy and it was AWESOME! Kris claims he's never seen me this happy the whole time we've been dating, I was in my element and loving every minute of it! Here's a little before and after:
We were back at the house on Sunday morning as well with my parents in tow. Kris and my dad ripped up the kitchen floor, while my mom and I primed walls in the basement. needless to say I slept like a baby on both Friday and Sunday night.
During this process, we also discovered that the Tim Horton's near the house makes Boston Cream Timbits! It's on Brant Street, on the north side of downtown Burlington. If you're in the area, GO! little cream filled chocolate topped Timbits? They are amazing.
Saturday was another busy day! My friends Steph and Eric were moving, so Steph and I spent some time rearranging her furniture in circles and putting together her bedroom. Their new apartment is gorgeous.
After that it was downtown with Nela for late afternoon and dinner at Barsa Taberna, a Toronto Tapas restaurant near the St Lawrence Market. I'll be blogging about this on Friday, but here's a sneak peek at some of the deliciousness!
For those in the Toronto area, you may remember that it started SNOWING on Saturday. Nela and I were on our way back to Union, so we ducked into Wine Bar to wait it out. Luckily they were sympathetic to our cause and offered us some free nibbles with our wine!
I hadn't been to Wine Bar before, but we glanced at their menu and it looked fabulous. The bartender explained they switch it up every month or so, so don't expect to be able to order the same thing twice. Get it while it's hot!
With Sunday came Easter morning!
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that my mother still makes me an Easter basket every year... I'm less embarrassed because she also made Kris one, so we woke up Sunday morning and opened them up in bed to dig into our chocolate!
Movie passes, candy, and these AWESOME light up toys which we have affectionately dubbed "rave bunny" and "rave chicken" as that's really where they belong. At raves. Being awesome.
After the aforementioned Sunday renovating, it was off to my aunts for Easter Dinner with my Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. My aunt snapped this cute photo of Kris and I with her old school blackberry, I kind of love it, even if it's pixelated.
That's really all I have to say about my busy weekend! This week and last were full of appointments, work and social obligations. I'm running around like a mad woman and wishing I had more time to blog. If it makes anyone feel better, my bathroom is filthy too... But you're getting a special Friday post about Barsa, and a new recipe is coming up on Saturday! Plus a post on dressing for Wedding and Baby shower season (it's here!)
Hope you're happy now miss Becky!
I guess the only thing left to ask is... are you also an albatraoz?
