Amsterdam BrewHouse on the Lake

If you haven't yet been to the Amsterdam BrewHouse in Toronto, make it next on your list for a night out in the city!
This BrewHouse opened last year and is of a rare variety of restaurant in the city, which is that you can actually SEE the lake without paying for a club membership or a high-priced condo.

Right by the harbourfront centre, Amsterdam BrewHouse serves up delicious meals and good beers, and has a pretty homey atmosphere in spite of just how big it is (I'm already mentally planning events there)

Myself and 3 girlfriends arrived, quickly ordered our beer (I had a downtown brown ale) then started in on the menu. After quite a bit of hmm-ing and haw-ing, i decided on the Lemon Chicken Schnitzel:

LEMON CHICKEN SCHNITZEL - Spent grain breading, fingerling potatoes, sautéed rapini, chargrilled lemon, crispy capers

Apparently it's the best thing on the menu... Without tasting anything else I'm inclined to agree. I actually had a go at making it myself a few days later because I was day dreaming about it.

That said, the Butternut Squash ravioli looked AMAZING. Definitely my next order from this kitchen.

Not a group to stop at dinner, we ordered a few desserts to share and a cappuccino each to cap off the night... the desserts did NOT last long, they were fantastic.

  • SUPER GOOD HOUSE-MADE CHEESECAKE - with fresh berry coulis

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE TORTE - with fresh berry coulis

After we paid the bill, we decided it was time for a photo op on the harbour bridge. I lamented that we weren't there in the sunshine to enjoy all the boats, a walk around the harbour and fabulous views of Lake Ontario, but I suppose we can always go back!

A fabulous girls night out with some fabulous ladies! Thanks for not judging me for demolishing the cheese cake...

Amsterdam BrewHouse is at 245 Queens Quay West, Toronto! Don't miss out on this lakeside gem!
